I know a lot of people got dogs during the lockdown but we decided to rescue a ferret instead.
I have always wanted a ferret but I know that they need a lot of attention and I was never home to give them any.
With the lockdown, I knew I would be working from home for the foreseeable future. Perfect, right? So we ferret proofed our house and then went and picked up our new ferret. We named him Freddy and he is a lot of fun. However, our HVAC system has not been working right ever since we brought Freddy home. It is always super cold in the bedrooms and rather warm in the living room and kitchen. I think this is because we leave the bedroom doors closed most of the day while Freddy is out of his cage. That doesn’t create very good air circulation. Because all of the rooms in the house get the same amount of cooled air, the small bedrooms are freezing and the larger portions of the house are warm. I read that you can put up a baby gate to keep ferrets out of rooms and I tried that but Freddy just climbed right over the baby gates. So I might need to look into getting zone control for the house so we can keep the whole house comfortable. I plan on calling my HVAC supplier to get a quote tomorrow. Either that, or I need to ferret proof every room in the house and I don’t think that is possible.
