Allergies are no joke and they can really interfere with your day.
I have horrible allergies and I have done a ton of research on the subject.
One thing I learned recently is that your HVAC system can play a huge roll in your allergies. If you have bad allergy symptoms the dust particles pushed out by your AC unit can further aggravate or cause your condition. I never thought about the fact that my ductwork could have mold or other allergens inside that were affecting my allergies. I learned this information when my HVAC technician came out for the first time and I mentioned my allergies were bad. He explained that air quality varies a lot based on how well you take care of your AC system. He explained that if I get high quality air filters for my AC unit I would likely notice a large difference. He also said that in order for me to really notice a difference in my HVAC performance he would need to do some ductwork cleaning. I was definitely fine with getting things cleaned up so I told him to go ahead! After he cleaned the HVAC in my house I was amazed at how much better I felt. It took a few days for everything to clear up but I am so thankful I met this HVAC technician. I have lived in many other houses and no HVAC provider ever explained the importance of a good air filter for my AC unit. Now I have told everyone I know to take proper care of your air conditioner! It can also be beneficial to change the air filter on your furnace, just keep the whole HVAC system clean!
