The two of us had been planning this film night for a while. My husband and I wanted to surprise our kids with a scary movie marathon. Everything was all set. We had popcorn and blankets and were all ready to spend the night cuddled up on the couch watching as many horror films as we could squeeze in. Don’t get me wrong, these are not too gorey since our kids are still young. However you don’t need blood and gore to make a horrifying film, so I found a few ghost stories that are sure to startle them. This December has been pretty chilly so far, which was a big plus for us, because the chilly weather is good for cuddling! Of course today was the day we got a bit of a heat wave, and it was way too warm in our house for cuddling. Even though I knew it would jack up our utility bill more than I would have prefered, I went to the temperature control and turned it way, way down. I decided to take matters into my own hands. If the weather was not going to help us have a good film night, then I would use the power of the central Heating, Ventilation & A/C to help us out! With all the air vents wide open and the temp set about as low as it could possible go, both of us finally got to feel chilly enough to crawl under blankets. The two of us let the a/c run for the whole night through, and kept ourselves hot by cuddling together, especially during the horrifying parts. The film night ended up being legendary, and it would never have worked without the cooling power of the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system.
