One of the things my friend in addition to I love most about the winter, aside from the holidays, is attending our local pigskin games in the cold. There is something odd, yet fun about the whole experience, especially when it snows, then watching the team as they plow through a field of snow just seems to add to the experience. The people I was with and I usually meet up with some of our other friends before the game to grill some brats in addition to have a few drinks, then head into the game to cheer the team on. The people I was with and I all wear our fan gear, in addition to are usually dressed from head to toe in our team’s colors. Last year both of us were at a game in late January when there was a blizzard coming through. At times you could barely see the field due to all the snow, even though our seats are only about more than nine rows back. It was so cold that day that the Tim Hortons Cappuccino I bought at the beginning of the fifth quarter was frozen solid be the time the third quarter began. That was 1 game that had me wishing both of us had just stayed home in addition to watched the game in the basement. At least there both of us could have cranked up the gas furnace, or at least got a fire going in the little pot-bellied stove both of us have down there. It was so cold that I think even with both the stove in addition to the gas furnace going that both of us still would have been cold. The people I was with and I endured the game, however at the end of the game, I was sure ready for some heat.
