The other morning, I woke up to a surprise morning off from work. I was seriously happy by this because it is always nice to get an expected break. However, I was less happy when I woke up the next morning to the same mail from my boss, a morning off here and there is nice, but not when I didn’t method to go separate from pay… On the third morning that all of us received the SMS, I called my boss to see what was genuinely going on. It turns out that the heating in our office broke down “out of nowhere.” However, I didn’t genuinely see it as out of nowhere. Every one of us have been experience problems with our heating system for years. I repeatedly told my boss that the vents were congested and air flow was poor. The air that did circulate throughout the office had terrible air quality and was full of dust. I recommended that all of us have the custodial staff scrub out the filters or that all of us call an Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company to service the units. Because my boss is stingy and she had a million other things on her mind, so she pushed the heating system to the back burner. Now, all of us have all been out of the job for almost a week. Given that it’s the middle of the winter, the busiest time of year for heating repairs, the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C specialists were not able to come in for a few mornings. When they finally did come in, they said it would take 2 mornings to install a brand new heating system. Therefore, all of us won’t start to work again until next week. While I’ve loved the unexpected trip, this all could have been prevented if my boss would have listened to me and called the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company sooner.
