I don’t care for ceiling fans one bit, and I don’t understand why anyone would take one over just getting an a/c… The fan is not nearly as powerful as AC is, and it’s as ugly as it is horrible. You can get plenty of ductless mini split a/cs that really do look quite modern, and they can match the style perfectly to your decor. Second, a ceiling fan catches dust like nothing else, every month the dust on the blades are way beyond excessive. If you are not on it with cleaning, the dust then pollutes your air quality, and while a cooling system does get dirty it’s nowhere near the same and you can take preventative measures against it. An air filter prevents dust from getting in the unit. The air conditioner filter protects the AC as well as your indoor air quality this way. And if that’s not enough, you also can get UV lights installed in the AC system or a whole-home air purifier system to sterilize the indoor air conditions, and there’s no worries about dirty AC or air quality this way. Last but no least, ceiling fans make tons of noise if they are not in excellent condition. They rattle, creak and moan as you use them. A central a/c or even ductless AC system is essentially silent. You might at worst get a soft hum if it is unusually noisy… Who can’t deal with that though? A ceiling fan swings around as if it’s trying to catapult itself off the ceiling just to lop off your head.
