The last thing on my mind when choosing air conditioners was the noise level

After my recent divorce, I have taken on a lot more duties inside my home that I no doubt took for granted and allowed my wife to do for so long.

I have attempted to improve my cooking skills while also taking up classes on budgeting and personal taxes.

Our split was in part from me never acknowledging her hard work and efforts around the house enough, and it really shows now that she is gone. With that in mind, I take full responsibility for our split. But, the best thing I can do is grow and try to improve as a human being. One other thing that I really need to get a better grip at is making large purchases. The skill that my ex-wife excelled at the most was researching products before buying them. She knew all the right websites to visit for online reviews before she ever stepped foot in a store to look at options. There is one major example of this that cropped up during the past few weeks. I needed a new window air conditioner to replace my old one that had finally died. It lasted for 15 years of solid use so I can’t complain regardless of the inconvenience. I went ahead and simply ordered a random machine without much research on my part. Unfortunately, I could have never expected to end up with a machine that is twice as loud as my old one. I made the huge mistake of not verifying the noise level rating before buying the new window air conditioner. In the end, I decided to take the machine back to the store and get a different brand. This time I made sure to find a machine that was advertised as being quiet.
