The furnace is keeping the building warm

My Dad is a dog groomer & she rents her shop from a local company owner.  She used to use the building our Dad rents as her location of company but as her company grew she needed a larger space, so she built a current location & held onto the original building.  She didn’t do much with the building our Dad rents, she mostly used it for storage. She never did any of the much needed updates such a plumbing repairs, drafty windows, leaking roof, & even the heating plan was neglected.  After our Dad started renting from him she started to pay for a lot of the repairs & updates that were needed. She replaced the interior of the building, she paid to have the plumbing repaired, & she covered the costs of having the roof repaired.  However, when it came down to the heating plan that was just not something she could afford to maintenance or replace. She has asked the owner many times if they could share the costs & she down right refuses because she insists the heating plan works great.  Her shop uses an outdated boiler plan that was installed in the building in the 1950s. The owner of the building has not updated the plan once, & she doesn’t even remember the last time she had the heating plan tested! During the Wintertide when our is at the shop she mostly has to rely on space furnaces to keep the building warm.  The oil furnace in the waiting room works rather well considering its age, but the furnaces in all the other rooms are dead. This makes for some very frigid work days, so our Dad had to purchase 9 bizarre portable space furnaces just to keep the building comfortable. I find that in the United States.
