My Mom and I have recently bought a triplex that is in some need of some updating. I work in construction as a superintendent and I will do most of the jobs needed myself, and our Mom is going to act as the bank. We will be taking it real slow, though and updating one piece of equipment at a time, so I won’t get overwhelmed. We both still have our usual work. The triplex is truly in pretty superb shape. I’ll need to rip out aged cabinets, and most of the kitchens, but the walls and floors appear good. The cooling system wall units that are currently in the locale leak and are inefficient. I will be replacing these with the new ductless mini-split system. Ductless technology offers a far more cost-effective way to replace inefficient window units and section heaters. I won’t have to add any ductwork to our triplex. Another positive feature of the new ductless mini-split technology is each renter can control their temperature with their own temperature control. The ductless Heating and A/C systems are super efficient and they provide consistent even comfort to any room. One negative detail that I have seen in these ductless systems is the fact that the ductless technology will not handle accumulating debris. I’ll have to scrub the filter on these ductless plans biweekly, since the fan cannot handle dirt. However, that preventive service regarding the ductless plan will just be one more task for this new property owner to manage. The ductless plan may not be cheap, but considering I won’t have to install any ductwork, the cost may just may even out.
