In the southeast area of the country where my family & I live, there is a storm season that lasts for about more than four months out of the year, but most of the time, massive tropical storms will form off the coast of Africa & make their way across the Atlantic Ocean! By the time they reach the coast the water fuels their strength & they become hurricanes, every ten years or so, both of us get a pretty disappointing set of them that cause significant damage in the coastal areas. Last year both of us had a pretty disappointing a single that was a single of the largest in recorded history. The tepid hot & cold temperatures & warmer waters fuel these storms… During the disaster recovery effort, our request post was set up in the parking lot of the hardware store. This request post was a massive semi-hauled trailer with a mobile communications center. Most pressingly it had air conditioning. There were more than 2 separate Heating, Ventilation, & A/C systems affixed to the roof that helped keep the device & operators nice & cool. The storm had left warmer hot & cold temperatures, so it was nice to have a nice cool place for the disaster recovery coordinators to meet up & system their efforts. Most sites are out of electricity after a major storm like that, but the request post was self powered by a set of generators. One of these powered the device & a single was dedicated to the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C & crew comfort gear, and with a couple of these air conditioned trailers set up around the town, the coordination efforts went easily smoothly & both of us were able to focus on the recovery efforts.
