Taking energy saving measures in lofts

I recently bought a building that includes several separate apartments, then the building is quite old plus features original hardwood floors, doors plus moldings.

The immense windows plus high ceilings make these apartments hard to heat plus cool, when I bought the buildings there was no insulation in the walls plus ceilings, but all of the windows were extremely old plus leaked a tremendous amount of air.

The front plus back doors of the apartments lacked weatherstripping plus failed to shut securely. When I asked the renters if they had any complaints or concerns, they all told me about chilly conditions while in the Winter time plus concerns with heat plus humidity in the summer. They were unhappy with the performance of the heating plus cooling systems plus hoped I’d consider replacing them, i checked the yearly utility costs plus saw a steady increase over the years. I then hired a local Heating, Ventilation plus A/C company to look over the heating plus cooling equipment. The company found that the units were not outdated but had not been properly cared for. The renters had failed to always replace air filters plus the former owner hadn’t kept up with professional service. A thorough cleaning plus adjustment of the heating plus cooling system significantly improved efficiency, capacity plus indoor air conditions. I bought a supply of filters plus handed them out to the renters. I also went around the apartments plus completed a long list of improvements to eliminate energy waste. I installed installation, replaced windows, bought current exterior doors, caulked plus weatherstripped. The renters are not much happier with the comfort level of their apartments. I’m thankful that the yearly yearly bills aren’t costing me as much.
