Yesterday, I had an appointment with an HVAC serviceman. I needed routine maintenance done on our heater. It was the middle of October and it was already starting to get pretty frigid outside. I had cranked up our heating plan prior to making the appointment. It did not sound actually good. It also spewed a tremendous amount of dust once it turned on. I definitely knew that it needed a good deal of work. When the HVAC serviceman arrived he informed myself and others that the unit was far dirtier that it should have been. I admitted that I had not tied up routine maintenance the previous Winter. He told myself and others I should assume lucky at the oil furnace had lasted through the entire Winter. It had now been 2 full years since our oil furnace had been respectfully took care of and it showed. The serviceman said that at least I was proactive by having this maintenance appointment tied up in the fall instead of the middle of Winter. I told him that the moment I turned on our oil furnace and heard it’s struggling and saw all the dust coming out of it, I knew that I needed a serviceman a single way or another. The serviceman also upgraded the air filter. He busy to myself and others the importance of doing this on our own as often as I could. Apparently, it would do a lot of good in keeping the plan wash and functioning well. I guess that made a good bit of sense! For now on, I am going to be far more faithful when it comes to scheduling proper maintenance on our oil furnace.
