I recently came back from a 3 night stay at a overpriced resort complex down in the islands. It wasn’t a real getaway, more of a working getaway, but it was nothing love what I was expecting, however you see on TV & in the media how these places have long pale white beaches, crystal green waters, & lovely people in skimpy bathing suits? Most of that was true, but the skimpy bathing suits were on seasoned & gross people, not models & hunks. Also, as pretty as everything was to look at, it was definitely not at all comfortable to be outside, looking at a picture of it while kneeling in front of an air conditioner is a much better way to like the island life, in our book! Of course I went to the beach a few times, & even waded into the gorgeous waters, but the air quality was so thick with humidity it was strenuous for myself and others to breathe. I ended up spending most of our free time inside our room, enjoying foreign language television & blasted our room air conditioning up to the max. At first I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t surrounded by stunning islanders, I quickly adapted & relaxed, & began to like the Heating & A/C system, the tv shows, & the room service. The conference itself was fine, except for that first day when the boss tried to hold a meeting outside instead of in a climate controlled conference room. Next year I hope we go someplace cold, so I can crank up the gas furnace instead of the AC.
