Let up on the HVAC load to ease summer budget strain

There is a distinct feeling that I just don’t have the same time allotment that I once had. A decade ago, I had to work at it but I could get my daily tasks completed. Now, there isn’t a chance of getting everything done. My day is now all about prioritizing the tasks that are in front of me. I sit in my HVAC controlled office simply trying to juggle which fires to put out first. This is such a stressful way to live. By the time I walk in the front door after work, all I want is to be quiet and soak up the HVAC comfort of my home. However, even that is becoming a bit of a hassle. This has nothing to do with the HVAC system itself. That thing is nearly brand new and is a marvel of reliability and efficient HVAC operation. However, given the recent economic squeeze we are currently in, I am having to be more proactive about lessening the load on the HVAC. I guess that really starts with the HVAC setting. I just don’t want to face up to that fact. I love being able to just set the HVAC to a really cool and comfortable setting in the summer. Well as nice as it is, this strategy is far more expensive than I am willing to endure. The first thing I did was to put in a smart thermostat. We have to have a more efficient and precise way of managing the HVAC output. The beauty of the smart thermostat is that it does this without my help. Now, the temps in the house are allowed to rise during the peak heating hours of the day. This will save us a great deal of money over and entire summer.
