When the last of our kids moving out, the day was bittersweet, we were down to see our youngest leave, as he was regularly the most thoughtful, considerate plus agreeable of our children. My spouse and I knew that it would be an adjustment stage for us to get used to him not being around, but it was alright – we had just the thing to occupy ourselves to stave off the empty-nest syndrome! See, my husband and I made a pact when our youngest was born. The both of us promised we’d renovate the entire home from the ground up as soon as he moved out, or at least start the process then, however well, with him leaving, we now can absolutely start at the ground floor, because the first renovation project we’re doing is installing radiant heating into our home! Radiant heating isn’t necessarily from a radiator anymore, as this method functions love a big radiator that’s housed right inside the floor! Hot water pipes carry hot water through a heat-conductive material, and that heat then spreads out and up from the floor… Since the heat comes from the entire floor space, there’s no cold or hot spots! Plus, the idea is far more efficient than many options on the market, as it uses hardly any electricity at all to function, a pump sends hot water from a boiler up through the piping, plus the heat-conductive flooring does the rest! I can’t wait until we both get this installed, because Winter time is fast approaching as well as our heating method odors. With this new system, I can finally get some good sleep in a home that isn’t as cold indoors as it is outside.
