Apparently size does matter in the heating and air conditioning field. In my opinion, larger is always better; When I purchased a new fridge, I got the biggest one that can fit in my home. I got a greater pool than I undoubtedly needed and I got a way more powerful lawnmower than I needed. For my gas furnace and central air conditioning equipment, it being greater than proper was not a good thing. Apparently heating and cooling systems need to be officially sized for a home. The reason is that the gas furnace Ventilation, & A/C plan is set to a centralized temperature–you decide on the amount of heating and A/C. The gas heater and A/C works to achieve the temperature control temperature. If the furnace and air conditioning component is too big, it achieves it easily. Sounds like a good thing right? Nope, this means the gas furnace and air conditioning components frequently will turn off and on. The whole HVAC unit will totally power back up and down. This is the least efficient way to run furnace and A/C technology. It is better to leave your furnace or air conditioner on all day long, just at a lower setting. Also, how comfortable is a condo that gets completely cooled down or heated up? With this method, you are always waiting for the gas furnace and air conditioning to decide to turn on. The HVAC equipment gets dirty, sluggish and overheated turning off and on all of the time. It is more prone to repairs and will prematurely break down. I can attest to this’ my gas furnace and A/C is always having issues due to its size. I frequently need an HVAC repair or to adjust the settings on the temperature control with my furnace and AC unit.
