My mom is a pet groomer plus she rents her shop from a local supplier owner. He used to use the building our mom rents as his locale of supplier but as his supplier grew he needed a larger space, so he built a new location plus held onto the original building. He didn’t do much with the building our mom rents, he mostly used it for storage. He never did any of the much needed updates such a plumbing repairs, drafty windows, leaking roof, plus even the heating plan was neglected. After our mom started renting from him she started to pay for a lot of the repairs plus updates that were needed. She updated the interior of the building, she paid to have the plumbing repaired, plus she covered the costs of having the roof repaired. However, when it came down to the heating plan that was just not something she could afford to repair or update. She has asked the owner various times if they could share the costs plus he down right refuses because he insists the heating plan works great. Her shop uses an ancient boiler plan that was installed in the building in the 1950s. The owner of the building has not updated the plan once, plus he doesn’t even remember the last time he had the heating plan tested! During the Winter season when our is at the shop she mostly has to rely on space gas furnaces to keep the building warm. The gas furnace in the waiting room works rather well considering its age, however the gas furnaces in all the other rooms are dead. This makes for some honestly cold job nights, so our mom had to purchase 9 odd portable space gas furnaces just to keep the building comfortable. I find that inexcusable.
