When my life partner and I finally had our library perfectly suited, we knew something was missing. It took us over a month of puzzling until we realized that what the room lacked was a chair. But it couldn’t just any old chair; it needed to be both stately and classical, yet comfortable and inviting. We didn’t want something that was so stiff it felt uncomfortable, and nor did we want something so big and plush you would feel it would devour you should you sit in it for too long. Many different types of upholstery were also out, as we have a cat and a dog and needed something that would not attract pet hair like a magnet. After months of going to different stores, having to be explained the current trends, we finally ended up back in our neighborhood at the custom made furniture store. We weren’t sure how we were going to afford it, but my life partner and I were determined to have this chair we had made up in our heads. It seemed like just a fantasy until we described it to one of the custom furniture designers. This woman knew exactly what we wanted! She sketched it out as if she had picked it right out of our heads. From there we were able pick out the different leathers by touch, rather than just seeing digital samples on her tablet. From wood staining to leg type and event he hardware, my life partner and I were truly able to make the perfect reading chair.
