I never put much thought into the maintaining of appliances when I lived in rental cabin buildings… I minded my own business, and if something broke down, all I had to do was call the landlord to come out and repair it, then this all changed when I bought my first new house. Then, I was the only person responsible for taking care of repairing things, so I had to be more thoughtful about repair concerns, however one thing I started doing was schedule an annual Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device inspection. I started this because I feel that going without an air conditioner can be tough, and I wanted to make sure that I didn’t encounter any unexpected concerns with the cooling system. A neighbor of mine gave myself and others the idea after having to deal with an HVAC breakdown that took a full two week to fix! The thought of having to go without cool air blowing for two week was something that scared myself and others into being more diligent… Now, when my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor comes out for the seasonal inspection, he is able to tell myself and others if I have any small concerns going on with my unit. If so, he’s able to help myself and others get them fixed so that the idea doesn’t shut down without any warning. I have had good luck with my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device because of this, and I would propose this to every new homeowner! It takes a lot of thought and planning to take care of a property, however thinking ahead is something that constantly rewards you in the long run. I wouldn’t suppose of going back to my ancient habits now! My new ones have served myself and others too well.
