Geothermal Heating, Ventilation, and A/C can be a superb thing, but it takes awhile to get there! First, the initial cost of a geothermal heat pump is quite considerable! All Heating, Ventilation, and A/C systems are way more money than they should be. For what you get, a heat pump should not be that much. Not only do you need to spend money for the cost of the actual heating and air system, you need to spend money for Heating, Ventilation, and A/C replacement, second, the replacement of the heat pump is not for the faint of heart. The indoor unit is simple enough to set up, but it is particularly the outdoor unit to the heat pump that is a pain. The outdoor unit needs to be buried under the ground in order to absorb the heat energy below ground. The heat energy then is pushed to the indoor unit for heating; Or the reverse happens. The indoor unit pushes the heat energy to the outdoor unit and it is stored underground. To get the unit underground, quite a bit of work has to be done. Then, after everything is all finished up, the energy savings take awhile. A few weeks need to go by before you notice a difference in your energy costs. A heat pump boasts about making back its initial price. That happens, you just need to be patient. Another hardship with the heat pump is that it is superb at providing chilly air in the home, not so much with heating. You better live in a warm weather conditions that does not drop below 40 degrees at night.
