There’s not much that can be done when it comes to grocery shopping. If you live where it’s not very populated – as I do – there’s nothing that can be done other than doing it yourself. Going to the local grocery store is a chore, for sure. It can be productive if you make a list of what you’ll need for the week. I like making pasta a lot, which includes several ingredients including imported olive oil, pasta sauce, etc. Once arriving at the grocery store, the next issue is to find a parking spot. Depending on the time of day that you go, it can get quite crowded! And I don’t know about anyone else, but I don’t like it when it’s crowded – especially in the summer. At least the grocery store in my neighborhood has the good sense to have a good air conditioning system that pumps out clean and quality air conditioned air. This really helps when things get a bit on the stuffy side from all those people on crowded afternoons. I like going early on Thursdays when their food supplier restocks the shelves and I am able to find exactly what i’m looking for, not having to waste a bunch of time. If they don’t have a certain brand that I like, I won’t buy it that week because I believe in the old saying ‘quality over quantity’. In other words, I won’t settle for anything but the best! On a good afternoon, I’m usually in and out of the grocery store within 30 minutes. On the more crowded afternoons, it can take about an hour. However, even though grocery shopping can be a drag, like I said, every one of us gotta eat.
