The first motorcar I ever ordered, I ordered with air conditioner. This was way back in the 78s, and before that all of us just would ride around with the windows down, then my friends and I would joke around and call that nature’s air conditioner because all of us were all too terrible to get a motorcar that air conditioner already installed on it, but then I joined the military and by the time I was ready to get out of the service, I had saved up enough money to get the motorcar that I really wanted and you better think that it would most absolutely not depend on nature’s air conditioner to keep me cooled off! The motorcar that I ordered was a muscle car. It was a elegant machine. It was bright cheery yellow with black racing stripes on the hood and on the trunk. The engine made the most elegant roar that you’ve ever heard and that motorcar would run 78 miles an hour in low gear! I’d rev up the motor until the valves started floating and it would pop and crack because the valves couldn’t job fast enough for the pistons. That motorcar was a real machine! I loved the way it drove, but since all of us were living in a hot section of the country, my favorite thing about it was absolutely the air conditioning. We didn’t have air conditioner in our house, so on really hot nights, I’d go get in the motorcar and drive around with the windows up and the air conditioning blasting. That car’s air conditioning was a million times better than what my friends called nature’s air conditioner, let me tell you, then nature’s air conditioner was for the birds, no pun intended!
