I don’t understand

My wife and I have been house-hunting for the past couple of weeks. It’s a terribly tedious and extensive process, but we both still savor almost every second of it. There’s a few amenities that the both of us really want from the home-to-be. We value our comfort over the aesthetics of the house, so we’re prioritizing functionality over style. First of all, central heating and air is critical to make survival is easily achieved during the harsh seasons. As the years go by, my wife and I will be more sensitive to the extreme weather. While we wish to remain comfortable in any climate or temperature, it’s kind of ironic when the two of us speak to realtors – we’ve always asked them about the appliances before anything else. Rather than the square footage or what else the house may or may not offer structurally, we often find ourselves obsessing over what the current appliances are and how they perform. When the two of us explain how central heating plus central a/c are so important to our comfort, they begin to understand where our priorities lie! Hopefully we’ll find a great, functional house within the next month or two. Fun as it is to search for a home, we’re not fond of apartment living!
