My Aunt Marjorie is my very favorite relative, by far. She’s always been the one to cheer me on, and to take care of me whenever I’m sick. She would always come over with little gifts and treats for me and she was always so funny and helpful and kind to me! It’s no wonder that she’s my favorite aunt. Now that I’m grown, we still try and go to lunch once a week and she’s still always there for me if I need her. But now she’s getting on up there in years and I feel like maybe I can help repay her for all of the kindness that she’s shown me throughout my life. So Aunt Marjorie has been using an old wood stove and a fireplace to for heating her home for the past twenty or thirty years. But since she’s getting older now, I don’t want her messing around with the wood or the smoke or any of the breathing issues that come along with that type of heating system. My plan is to go over and assess the situation and see what kind of heating and air conditioning system would actually be the best for her home. And then I will call an HVAC contractor and have them come over and do any of the necessary heating and air conditioning installations. I’m hoping that there’s at least a little bit of the ductwork already run for the pipes from the woodstove, but I’m not too optimistic about that. I’m afraid that the main costs for re-doing Aunt Marjorie’s HVAC system will actually be the ventilation and ductwork itself.
