When I finally was able to get a promotion at my workplace plus started making a little more cash, I could afford a nicer apartment! I was rather excited to transport into a modern apartment building that was downtown… The building advertised all sorts of conveniences plus amenities.
- I had access to a truly large fitness center with an impressive array of state-of-the-art equipment.
There was laundry facilities, a game room plus various conference rooms! One of the pressing selling points of the residence was the temperature control. The utilities were included within the rent. There were numerous separate temperature controls within the apartment, allowing for zoned heating plus cooling. It wasn’t until I moved in that I was able to notice some of the downsides. Three independent temperature controls within a fairly small residence is absolutely ridiculous. I actually didn’t need to set an entirely different temperature between our tiny kitchen plus tiny living room. Because the building was actually temperature controlled, the windows were always shut. The management of the building determined whether it was the right time of year for heating or a/c. If every one of us happened to get an unusually nippy afternoon in July, I was stuck with a/c. All I could do was turn it down. If the weather happened to be incredibly hot in January, I had no way to prevent an influx of heat from the HVAC vents. The location of the apartment building was also a pretty sizable problem. Being located downtown was great for the close proximity to shopping plus nightlife. However, trying to find a parking place was basically always a nightmare. I only stayed in that apartment building for just one year.
