Living in the sunny South can be good if you appreciate the hotter temperatures. But, if you are more of a rainy fall person, I don’t request it. I moved here some years ago. Following many of my northern brethren, I finished up a job and went to the sun. It was a bonus round transfer on my part. I found a small house in a small town. This worked perfectly for myself and my kids at first. Then, I started slowing down a bit and wasn’t enjoying the outdoors as much. That turn of events also had a debilitating effect on my psyche. So, I built a sunroom. Another master stroke idea, if I do say so myself. The only disadvantage is there isn’t heating and A/C in my sunroom. There is a slight chill in the Wintertide but, the summertime is almost too warm to appreciate the sunroom. I can’t afford to extend the heating and A/C air duct out into the sunroom. Calling my local heating and A/C business for solutions was the right move. An honestly nice heating and cooling expert came to my house to help myself and my eldest son choose the official option. He showed my son and I a heating and A/C model I had never seen before. The ductless mini-split heating and cooling unit is a duct-free alternative which provides excellent temperature control. However, the mini split was a bit more fancy than my budget could handle. I chose, instead, to purchase a modern portable A/C unit. The portable A/C will be effective and I can transfer it around to accommodate my needs in the sunroom. I will continue to knock the chill off the sunroom in the Wintertide with my handy electric heater. Yet, I will begin saving for the ductless mini-split heating and cooling unit. The older I get, the less I am going to want to drag around the portable unit. Plus, I love the notion of lounging in my sunroom with the climate control remote to the mini split heating and A/C in my hand.
