I picked up a seasonal task to make ends meet while all of us were in the winter, however I don’t suppose I’m going to end up keeping it for long! Where I live it gets brutally cold, and the Winter season lasts for as long as several months, however this means my utility bills are incredibly high and I have to put up with them for over half of the year… In order to afford it, I’m typically picking up extra seasonal tasks in the Winter to make ends meet, however so this time, I picked up a task helping ship orders at a condo for a large online dealer. I thought this task would be a super straightforward and easy way to pay for those higher Winter bills; However, the condo is tougher than I thought. This is because the building is not heated at all. I had thought a supplier as huge as this would have at least some kind of Heating and A/C system, if not for the comfort of their employees, at least to keep the products safe. However, on the first day it was so chilly I used my fifteen minute chop to go out to my motorcar and have Tim Hortons Latte in there to up! Plus when I got off my break, I took my gloves and coat with me. This was the only way I could get my work done, while staying with the lack of heating and cooling. I asked our shift boss what the deal was with the Heating and A/C. She said that this is a warehouse, not an office building, and if I wanted to get paid I’d better get used to it.
