I always notice the HVAC settings at my job interviews these days

In the job before that, I was locked in a continual temperature control unit battle between the other office workers and myself

The older I get, the more I understand how pressing a work environment is to my overall life satisfaction, and my enjoyment at a job. Therefore my entire life, depends heavily on the surroundings of the position. When I was younger, I thought that the nature of the work was all that actually mattered. I thought a job was a job plus a paycheck was a paycheck, but as I have worked in more plus more professional situations, I have come to realize that the people you work with plus the environment matter so much more. That’s why, these afternoons when I go on interviews I’m pretty blunt about the day to day surroundings. I want to learn so much more than the company culture. Oftentimes, I come right out plus directly ask about the HVAC device settings, which tends to throw my interviewers for a loop. You see, I have worked in a number of seriously uncomfortable sites, literally. In my past job, the air conditioner device was constantly cranked up. Even in the middle of the winter months, the building was nippy. I had a separate temperature control unit in our office, but it was a dummy temperature control that did not impact the overall air quality. I froze all day long plus I was entirely miserable. In the job before that, I was locked in a continual temperature control unit battle between the other office workers and myself. We literally fought over utilizing the central cooling device each and everyday. Before I wind up in another seriously uncomfortable plus unproductive work environment, caused absolutely by HVAC device setting preferences, I would rather walk away from the job offer.
