I’ve been working at the local heating and cooling company now for 15 years. I started as an intern filing paperwork and doing any small things that were needed around the office. I did a lot of things and learned a lot when it came to customer service for the heating and cooling industry. I wasn’t a typical intern where I got coffee for my bosses and did the dirty work. They really challenged me and I certainly improved on the way I presented myself and talked to other people. Now fast forward to 12 years later I have worked my way up and now. Now I’m a lead office manager taking care of customer service calls and dispatching any issues to our heating and cooling service men. There’s a lot to this business that many people don’t realize. Since we have an emergency 24/7 hotline, and we’re the only heating and cooling business within this region that offers that, there are multiple people in my department. I rotate every month when it comes to working nights and days. I prefer working days because it goes quicker. Normally not a lot of people call about their heating and cooling system late at night except if they have important events going on the next day. So we had one of our heating and cooling technician go to his house a little after midnight to repair his air conditioning system. I thoroughly enjoy where I work and it’s been quite the journey!
