Home comfort

A few weeks ago, my spouse and I took a weekend trip to the Florida keys. She and I had not been away in a few months; so it was time to clear our minds and relax. We have two boys; so we were struggling with the decision to leave them alone at home. They are both teens, and the oldest can drive. In the event of a real emergency, they would be able to drive to the hospital or get aid. This was the first time, however,  that we decided to leave them alone overnight, and at first, we were a little distraught. I called them every minute, just to check in. Everything was fine, and I felt better about our trip. The next afternoon, Davey called to inform us that the central air unit was making an odd noise. The unit was old, so I thought it was a smart idea to have someone check out the issue. I tried to call our regular AC repairman, but I could not get anyone to answer my call. I tried another repair company in town, but I kept losing the call. Everytime the operator answered the phone, the call hung up. I started to get frustrated, so my spouse suggested  to wait a few minutes to try again. It took some time, but I was able to reach someone to check on our unit. My wife and I patiently waited for one of our sons to call with an update. Later that day, Davey called to tell us the unit was fine. The odd noise was a loose wire that was scraping against the motor belt.
