Getting a roommate to cover HVAC costs

I’m one of those people who’s a bit of an…

Introvert.

You might call me shy, you might call me antisocial, or you might consider that I’m a creative and independent soul. Honestly, I just enjoy being alone and sitting in my own silence. I like to work on my own projects and I like to keep my brain organized without the chaos of another human interjecting. That’s why, I always assumed I would end up living alone. It seemed very likely that I would spend a majority of my life residing in a home by myself, where I could seek refuge from the bustling world. The thing is, it turns out it’s expensive to live alone. This year, I have been struggling to pay all of my utility bills each month. In fact, there have been a few weeks where I lived without any modern cooling system to save some cash on my energy bill. As the winter was approaching, I got excited at the prospect of saving some money by cutting out my central heating costs and relying on space heaters instead. This was an effective measure and it gave me the energy saving bug. As I watched the seasons change again back to the heat and humidity of Summer, I knew I couldn’t go back to paying for central cooling on my own. If I wanted to get ahead, I needed to cut down on my living costs and that primarily included my continual air conditioning usage. I’ve always been a loner, but today I’m placing an ad online for a roommate, just so I can afford to heat and cool my house all year. Roomie needed; must love energy savings.
