Furnace filter smells

I always know when it’s holiday time when 2 things happen in our house.  First, the Heating, Ventilation and A/C heat pump has been switched over to heat for the first time of the season.  Secondly, Thanksgiving and Christmas items to have been placed up all over our house. It would be 1 thing if there were some cornucopias and colorful pumpkins followed by a reindeer welcome mat.  But no, it just descends all at once. It can be quite crazy for the holiday season. Then there are the candles to manage. I’m not talking about a simple candle centerpiece for the kitchen table.  It’s more love a monastery on Christmas Eve. They are in every room, every kitchen plus along any large flat surface. I found 4 in the laundry room. And each year, more appear. At first, there were maybe two dozen candles.  But then the count abruptly rose to over 30. This was a tipping point you could say. There was so much burnt wax in the air, the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C suffered. In all honesty, the paraffin wax volume was so great, it obstructed the air filter.  I remember the first time I saw this phenomena. It seemed as though the Heating, Ventilation plus A/C just would not stop running on high. So, I did the cursory checks every homeowner does. When I got to the air filter, I was very surprised to find the bottom side completely glazed over with sooty wax.  The Heating, Ventilation plus A/C simply couldn’t get any air. So, I think there are genuinely numerous things that happen in our house to alert me the holidays’ arrival. The third thing being me buying a new case of air filters to change every 10 nights or so. Any guesses why our number one holiday is halloween?
