Frustration is always going to set in

Since they know all of my prices and customers, they try to steal business from my HVAC company

Since I have run my own HVAC company for the last few decades, I have learned quite a few things about the HVAC industry that most people don’t know. I get kids who have just graduated out of an HVAC program that thought they knew everything about the HVAC equipment they were working with. They had been taught all of the theory and book knowledge, but they were missing all of the practical experience that repairing and installing furnaces and air conditioners for a few decades gives you. Though the HVAC field has changed in some ways and has improved, HVAC equipment isn’t much different than it was when I first got a job at another HVAC company. One of the most frustrating parts about working in the HVAC field is that people abuse my knowledge. When I hire somebody for my HVAC company, I immediately begin teaching them and training them to work on HVAC equipment. I show them all of the tips and tricks that I have learned after all of these years, and they become decent as HVAC technicians. Then, one day, they will just quit their jobs and start their own HVAC companies in the same city, becoming my competitors. Since they know all of my prices and customers, they try to steal business from my HVAC company. I just don’t understand how people can be like that. I spent hours and a lot of money showing them everything that I knew about HVAC equipment, just for them to leave. They slander and double-cross me! Whatever happened to people who are willing to work for an employer faithfully until they earned a nice position in my company?
