Fixing drafts and cold spots with duct boosters

I can’t stand a problem that refuses to be solved. I know that sounds counterintuitive to how problem-solving works, but it’s the truth for me! When I know I’ve done exactly what needs to be done to fix an issue, be it at home or with my car, the issue should be fixed, right? Well, I’ve done everything I can to get rid of the cold spot in my house, which just so happens to be in my bedroom. To be precise, the cold spot is directly in line with my bed, so I just can’t seem to warm up enough during the winter! As a result, I get terrible sleep. I didn’t understand why this was happening either, as my furnace is in wonderful shape. Besides, I have a ventilation duct directly over my bed, so how could I still be cold? Well, I decided to reach out to a friend of mine who works in the HVAC industry as a service technician and see what his thoughts were. He promptly suggested that I invest in a register duct booster, which sounded totally foreign to me! My buddy explained that the register duct booster looks just like a vent register, but actually houses a powerful fan that circulates air more effectively from a single ventilation point. It works perfectly to boost the flow of air into a room, and can be adjusted to draw more or less air into a particular space. I decided to buy a register duct booster and install it in place right over my bed, and let me tell you – the difference is unreal! I actually lowered the booster’s settings just because it was making me too warm when I tried to sleep. I can’t recommend one of these enough for fixing cold spots.
