Finding the source of the cold breeze

Last month, I kept complaining about the draft that was in my computer room.  He had the HVAC company out during the summer and they told us that there was no energy loss in the room.  I begged to differ with them. I told him we needed to get the HVAC company out here when we were having high winds in the winter.  He rolled his eyes and mumbled as he walked away from me, but he called the HVAC company. My husband doesn’t spend any time in my computer room.  He has no idea what I am talking about. When the HVAC company arrived, they went right to the computer room. They immediately found a cold spot and it was coming from behind the built-in cabinets.  They investigated this, thinking that there was no reason for there to be an air leak coming from there. The cabinets were installed when the house was built, which was long before we lived here. I told my husband that if we had to, I was going to rip out the cabinets to find where the cold was coming from.  We were paying for heat and we shouldn’t be losing it. When the HVAC tech went to the basement and looked at the floor underneath my room, they found the problem quickly. There was an air vent that led into my computer room, but there was no HVAC pipes to lead to the air vent. Since we didn’t have AC, there was no air coming up in the summer, but during the winter, the open air vent was a direct line for all of the cold air that came into the house, when the door opened.
