Last week, I kept complaining about the draft that was in our kindle room. She had the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C supplier out while in the Summer & they told us that there was no energy loss in the room. I begged to differ with them. I told him we needed to get the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C supplier out here when we were having high winds in the winter. She rolled her eyep & mumbled as she walked away from me, but she called the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C dealer. My partner doesn’t spend any time in our kindle room. She has no system what I am talking about. When the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C supplier arrived, they went right to the kindle room. They instantaneously found a cold spot & it was coming from behind the built-in cabinets. They investigated this, thinking that there was no reason for there to be an air leak coming from there. The cabinets were installed when the beach house was built, which was long before we lived here. I told our partner that if we had to, I was going to rip out the cabinets to find where the cold was coming from. Both of us were paying for heat & we shouldn’t be losing it. When the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C tech went to the basement & looked at the floor underneath our room, they found the problem quickly. There was an air vent that led into our kindle room, but there was no Heating, Ventilation, & A/C pipes to lead to the air vent. Since we didn’t have AC, there was no air coming up in the summer, but while in the winter, the open air vent was a direct line for all of the cold air that came into the house, when the door opened.
