Do I need a warranty for my heating and a/c system?

I am a professional heating and cooling serviceman, and my specialty is cooling system and heater installation.

I have spent countless hours in people’s homes installing their brand new central cooling system, boiler, or even media air cleaner, and when I am finished I always ask “would you like to purchase the Heating and Air Conditioning warranty for your unit?” Most people stare at me blankly then ask “do I absolutely need an Heating and Air Conditioning warranty?” I would like to answer this question at length, but yes, it is very important to have an Heating and Air Conditioning warranty because you never know what will go wrong with your central cooling system or heater over the next several years, however having a Heating and Air Conditioning warranty means that major repairs and minor repairs that occur due to an Heating and Air Conditioning serviceman’s mistake, are covered for free, but many times, when a gas furnace, central cooling system, or media air cleaner has a problem, it is due to a mistake by the Heating and Air Conditioning technician.

A Heating and Air Conditioning warranty is also fine for peace of mind. Many times clients will be easily be stressed about little things because it costs a lot of money to get their mini split a/c, or their whole home air purification system installed, and because they don’t have the warranty, they are always paranoid about their Heating and Air Conditioning unit, but getting the warranty will give peace of mind. Lastly, it is important to get the warranty because it will save you money on heating and cooling repairs, and tune ups. It is fine to get your central cooling system’s ductwork checked and sealed every few weeks, however this checkup is not super expensive, however the cost adds up. Getting the Heating and Air Conditioning warranty will cover the cost of getting your ductwork sealed, and an annual central cooling system and heater inspection.
