I own and operate a fitness center.
To accommodate the large amount of workout machines and equipment, locker rooms and studios for group classes, I purchased an enormous facility.
The overhead on such a big space is very expensive. No matter the weather outside, I need to maintain a cool and comfortable temperature. This costs me a fortune in heating and cooling. Humidity and unpleasant odors are also a problem, requiring a sophisticated ventilation system. I have members who work out at all times of the day and night, which means the lights and sound system are constantly in demand. I need to create a safe, secure and welcoming space for my clients. In order to optimize the efficiency and overall operations of my fitness center, I incorporated a building automation system. This has proved invaluable. The building automation system automatically maximizes energy efficiency. Through occupancy sensors, it knows when the facility is empty or in use and adjusts lights, temperature and all the essential systems accordingly. It troubleshoots through sensors and provides alerts in the event of a problem. Because of this, I never overlook vital maintenance or allow minor issues to graduate into more costly and bigger repairs. The building automation system includes surveillance cameras, motion detectors, glass breakage sensors and door locks that protect the safety of my clients. Members are able to access the building, day or night, with a key card. Even if they are working out alone, they are never unattended. The building is monitored 24/7 and emergency response is never far away.
