I have been working remote for my house for all of my adult life and I truly love it. I have always been a bit of an extrovert, andI love being able to hang out with my cats all day. You just can’t beat it! A few months ago when I moved to a new town about an hour away, I was getting a bit down on myself because I wanted to explore the town and check out restaurants but I was always busy working from home. It wasn’t until my air conditioning unit broke that I finally stepped out of mine non-stop routine and checked out what the town had to offer. It was either leave the house and find somewhere else to hang out, or work in the hot and humid house with no air conditioning for eight hours. I was putting off getting the air conditioning unit passed up for another week because I really needed to wait until my next paycheck came in. During that short week I was out all around the town checking out different coffee shops, restaurants, and other places that I could visit while getting some work done. It was really cool to finally get some fresh air conditioning relief after being home with all that, but it was even better Meeting some people from town and even making a few friends down at the library. I know I love working from home, but if I’m able to find a place in town or it has air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, and I can chat with a few people here and there I think that might be better for me than just staying at home. it sure does feel good stepping out of your bubble every once in awhile!
