Last fall, our common Heating, Ventilation & A/C company offered a discount on the installation of a central cooling system, and by taking advantage of that special, as well as a manufacturer’s rebate, the substitute into whole-beach lake house a/c was satisfactory.
With the air handler & duct method already in site for the forced air gas furnace, the installation was completed swiftly, with little disruption to the house! At that time, the weather was already cooling off.
Every one of us started up the central cooling method simply to test operation. Every one of us didn’t get to appreciate the luxury of it. Every one of us then started up the gas furnace & faced a honestly long & brutal Wintertide season… My whole family has been concerned for the warmer weather & the opening to run our current central a/c. I invested in a top-of-the-line model so that the people I was with and I could take advantage of 26 SEER, variable-speed compressor, WIFI fastenivity & zoned control… Unfortunately, the weather won’t cooperate. Every one of us had several inches of snow on Easter. It’s now the end of May, & I’m still tempted to run the gas furnace. The weather is overcast, rainy & cold. The inside of the lake house is regularly a bit chilly. Although the lilacs, tulips & rhododendrons are in full bloom, it’s still not sizzling enough to justify turning on the a/c. My whole family is getting discouraged. In our local area, the Summer season is respectfully short. At the rate we’re going, we’re never going to need the a/c. It seems as if the weather is simply going to switch from Wintertide back to fall again. I’m beginning to believe our investment into whole-beach lake house cooling was a waste of cash.
